December to June
•In December we did our BIG GIVE for Christmas- it was our absolute honour to head out to the He Korowai Whakapono Christmas Party - a charity that looks after families that have a parent in prison and helps keep the bonds between parent and child. Over 500 people attended and we took 1000s of items of clothing that you have so generously donated to us, and we set up a beautiful space where they could take whatever they needed. We were so humbled by their gratitude, their joy in finding great pieces and their beautiful hearts.
We had an incredible donation from Shineon - boxes and boxes of beautiful brand new clothes and shoes that we know everyone loves so much!
...and PQ goodness from Fresh Agency - thank you!
Secret Santa treats to some woman on our radar that could do with a treat...
It was bought to our attention the incredible work the charity Diamonds in the Rough does to empower and support teen mums. It was not even a question of whether we could help... the question was what would be best? We gifted every teen mum with a voucher to come and be gifted some clothing at any of our sales.
For Valentines Day we were gifted some beautiful pieces of jewellery from Lindi Kingi, which we gave away to two special people.
We had our 1 year birthday in our shop on the 1st of March! We celebrated with so many of you who came and shopped, ate some treats, and were given gifts to take away.
We created a nominations page on our website, for people to nominate someone in need to come into the shop and be gifted some beautiful clothes, to help them feel great. We go through these nominations every month and bring in as many woman as we can, and this is all thanks to your amazing donations!
We have passed on clothing to Koha Apparel, Womans Refuge and the Hope Shop, all amazing charities doing so much good. We also gifted Koha Apparel with $500 to help with their wonderful work and their hope to purchase a van which will help them hugely.
We were so generously donated 50 pairs of beautiful brand new shoes and boots from Heavenly Soles Outlet- so after lockdown we launched Tuesday Shoesday, and auctioned them off on Facebook and Instagram.
We had a Mothers Day sale where we packed out our online store and did free shipping, and then we did a big sort out in our shop in preparation of opening our doors again, and were able to pack up 20 bags of clothing for Womans Refuge.
We donated 19 Ball dresses to the incredible Charity Group of teens at Michael Park School in Ellerslie. This fabulous group decided to encourage ethical choices and sustainability in ball attire this year so they sourced pre loved gowns with the hope the students will wear recycled. All the money they raise from selling/hiring these will be donated to Womans Refuge.
We are so honoured to be able to help so many, and it is simply due to the amazing donations we receive, and support we receive in sales, so THANK YOU!
Anna x
