2023 so far...

This year started off with a downpour (literally) which saw us off the blocks needing to get clothes and financial support to those around us affected.

We donated food, sleeping bags, toiletries and baby supplies via The Kindness Collective. We also donated clothing which was sent to those affected - to school communities, a community that specifically reached out to us that had received little in support, Muriwai families and a few local Mt Albert families. All together we were able to donate $8,740 worth of goods which was amazing!

In our store we have managed to keep the price of clothing down (first item $10 and $5 for every item after) despite the costs rising around us - this is a huge part of our charity as it by no means covers the costs of the building and bills but it is our heart that all women have access to great clothes.

We have also opened our 2nd store in Titirangi, and feel so blessed to have been welcomed lovingly by the Titirangi community. We look forward to doing more with them in the coming months.

We sent out care parcels this year to women we have heard are in need, and had women in-store to dress and donate clothing to. Not only do these women receive clothing, but they also receive vouchers, gifts, and yummy treats. The 'Nominate a Women' system hasn’t been as effective as we wished for over the last few Covid years but we are delighted to have that rolling out monthly as of this month.

Each month, we will invite a group of women to our store, and with the help of one of our amazing Stylist partners, we will help to style them in clothing that fits with their lifestyle and makes them feel great. We were so grateful to have the amazing EJ from Sisterhood of Style come in June - there was so much joy all around!

Earlier in the year we filled 15 goodie bags for parents of Children with Cancer group - filled with love and treats and financial help for them in the form of vouchers. We have also supported Fix Up Look Sharp and Women's Refuge with much-needed clothing donations.

We held a Fill-a-Bag Market and had a bake sale, with all the excess clothing and funds raised going to flood-affected families.

We also participated in the Owairaka Community Day, where we gave clothing away in exchange for a Koha donation.

It was a hard start to the year for many, and times continue to be tough. We are honoured we can bring a glimmer of joy into people's lives, and we so appreciate YOUR help, which makes it all possible!

If you would like to help us in a volunteer capacity, please fill out your details HERE. We have so many different ways of being involved, and as the needs of people become greater, we really appreciate the help!
